As Director of Operations, Tyler manages the Center’s entire operations team including planning and directing event setups, breakdowns, and facility housekeeping.
Tyler began work at the Center in March 2014 as a Convention Services Manager. In her role, she handled high-profile events like Otakon, as well as other citywide, regional, and local shows. In 2015 Tyler passed the examination issued by the Events Industry Council to become a Certified Meeting Planner.
In 2016, Tyler's hard work was rewarded when she was nominated for the Convention Services Manager of the Year award by client, Kimberly Smith, Director of Conferences and Events of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. Tyler won this prestigious recognition and was presented with the award in January 2017 at Event Services Professional Association's annual convention.
She completed her Certified Exhibition Manager coursework and passed her examinations in 2019 to earn her CEM Certification issued by the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE).
Tyler is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, with a BSBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a focus in Event Planning and minors in Global Business and Business Leadership.
