Away, 2010

Artist: Dale Rogers (1972-Present)
Medium: Stainless Steel with Painted Steel Ball

This piece is located on the 300-Level Outdoor Terrace.

Away was created as part of a request for a proposal that was going to a park in San Ramon, California. The commissioner wanted a sculpture that was contemporary and uplifting, leaving Rogers to create this human-esque form extending towards the sky. Ultimately, the park went with another design and Rogers stored this in his arsenal to sale.

Rogers, a metal sculptor from Massachusetts, creates pieces for private collectors and public display. His works highlight abstract geometrics and clean and simple silhouettes while incorporating iconic and whimsical shapes into his sculptures. Working primarily with Stainless Steel and Cor-Ten Steel, Rogers is able to manipulate the versatility of the metal which adds to the dimension and depth of each sculpture.

Rogers’ public works are dispersed across the United States and Canada and portray an array of forms, animals, and designs.
